UN WPF ordered for Malawi Iland solar generators and Iland Green Technologies SA (Iland) is working on "Solar Airship".
Neuchatel, July 8, 2013 The World Food Program (WPF) of the UN has ordered solar generators and accessories for Malawi for immediate delivery from Iland. This is a great success for the company. The CEO, Daniele Oppizzi was delighted and stated that "negotiations with NGOs, the army and other institutions need a lot of time but after we have overcome all the hurdles, the next orders of the UN organizations should progress quickly. Other jobs from different NGOs and other institutions and armies will follow. We have now laid the foundation for close cooperation with the WPF. The UN has decided to order at Iland, because the products are superior against the competition in technical terms and in terms of flexibility and high adaptability to different climatic conditions such as heat, cold and rain."
In the middle of last month Iland has deepened the cooperation with hepta.aero. At a joint press conference Anibal Jaimes, founder, president and CEO of the historic flight hepta.aero association with approximately 200 members and Olivier Arni, responsible for urban planning, environment and transport Neuchâtel City Council and Daniele Oppizzi of Iland have presented "Search". The project has an order volume worth about 20 million CHF and blends old aerospace engineering with modern high technology. The electrically driven prototype "IRIS CHALLENGER" is about to cross the English Channel in August or September and will be converted after his return into solar operation. To commercialize use, it will take, according to Anibal Jaime, however, until about 2020.
In contrast, another project of the scientific association "FAUX DUFAUX" is more advanced. The solar-powered replica of the aircraft of the Dufaux brothers, also a co-operation between Iland and hepta, should again repeat the old route of flight in fall the brothers took 1919 over Lake Geneva.
