DORTMUND, 9 July 2013. One of Germany's highest-profile cities has now
chosen to roll out RIB iTWO as an end-to-end solution: Dortmund. Valued at
over USD 300,000, the RIB iTWO contract will make it possible for all city
government construction, engineering, roadwork and building management
offices to cooperate following the phased rollout of this integrated
end-to-end system solution.
RIB is thus further strengthening its market position in the public sector.
'Our goal is end-to-end usage of our new iTWO 5D total cost management
solution in the public sector,' elaborates Michael Sauer, CEO of RIB
Software AG.
In this market segment, roughly 50% of major German cities, over 90% of
German states' construction and roadwork authorities (15 out of 16) are
already exclusively using RIB software, as well as the German Federal
Waterways and Shipping Board. German public-sector construction, civil
engineering and roadwork represented an approximately EUR 45 billion market
in 2011 (DIW Berlin).
Dortmund, home to roughly 600,000 people, is one of the most populous
cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, and rapidly growing as a centre of
technology. The city government maintains strong relations with
universities, research centres and the business sector while promoting
advanced education and training for the younger workforce. These efforts
