DLA Architects Exhibit Dedication to Education
16th Annual Scholarship Program Awards State Level Winners
(firmenpresse) - ITASCA, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 07/10/13 -- DLA Architects, Ltd. has recently awarded scholarships to graduating high school seniors for their demonstrations of knowledge and interest in architecture. Students submitted videos highlighting how their educational spaces have created a quality learning environment, a challenge inspired by the firm's "form follows learning" philosophy. Since its inception 16 years ago, the THINK [about architecture] Scholarship Program has helped hundreds of students pay for classes, books, and other higher education necessities. From a group of $250 School Level Scholarship winners, the company has recently selected two State Level winners.
This year's first place State Level Scholarship award of $1,000 was presented to Michael Zimmer of Elgin High School. In addition, Cynthia Barrios from Ridgewood High School was awarded $500 as this year's State Level Runner Up. Both students will be presented their awards at "A Day in the Life of an Architect," an event hosted by DLA as a bonus to the winners. The event will give each student a chance to work with and observe an architectural professional for the day.
As it has for more than a decade and a half, the THINK [about architecture] Scholarship Program shows DLA's dedication to the educational design sector, as well as the stakeholders they ultimately serve.
