E Source Hosts Open House to Celebrate Relocation to Retrofitted Building
Energy-Efficiency Research Company Showcases Corporate Sustainability
(firmenpresse) - BOULDER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/11/13 -- E Source invites the community to an open house on August 1 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. to celebrate its new corporate headquarters at 1745 38th Street in Boulder, Colorado. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while touring the building and learning about the energy-efficiency measures E Source implemented as part of the office facility retrofit.
Working closely with Bancroft Capitol principals Doug McDonald and Joe Lampkin, E Source took advantage of the renovation opportunity to transform the 35-year-old building into an energy-efficiency showcase. "We made the decision to move and retrofit this building so we could be more consistent with our corporate mission statement, which is to advance the efficient and environmentally sound use and provision of energy," says E Source executive vice president Jay Stein. "Our new building is far more innovative from an energy-efficiency standpoint. It features light-emitting diodes, some of the highest-efficiency packaged RTUs [rooftop units] currently available, condensing instantaneous water heaters, widespread occupancy sensors, Solatubes to let in natural sunlight, and variable-speed supply fans in the air-conditioning system. We're thrilled to be in a space that 'walks our talk.'"
In addition to being energy-efficient, the space is unique and fun, with an open floor plan to foster interaction among staff and departments. "When we moved to this new building, we went from 50-plus offices to 9. The new space offers alternative work areas such as diner-style booths that allow employees to be much more collaborative, and we've already seen increased morale and productivity," says Cami Arlit, E Source vice president of HR & Administration. "Some other cool features we added include a pink-noise sound-masking system, a bike room, an outdoor patio, and lounge areas."
