CPS Technologies Receives U.S. Patent 8,464,46263 Titled "Multi-Layer Metal Matrix Composite Armor with Edge Protection" for Ballistic and Blast Protection
(firmenpresse) - NORTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/18/13 -- CPS Technologies Corp. (OTCQB: CPSH) today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark office has issued U.S. Patent 8,464,626. This patent, titled "Multi-Layer Metal Matrix Composite Armor with Edge Protection," builds on three prior CPS armor patents and describes additional novel features such as integrating an array of ceramic tiles directly into CPS HybridTech Armor® structures that contains an outer periphery of various material layers to enhance energy absorption and containment. This is the fourth patent issued to CPS related to its unique system for ballistic and blast protection, and the Company has additional patents pending in this area.
Commenting on this latest patent, Richard W. Adams, Senior Vice-President and Chief Technical Officer, said, "Our unique technology provides many armor design variants, and we continue to invent in this market space as we discover new materials to combine with our process in an array of applications.
