Cuxhaven, 22. July 2013 - With the commissioning of the 'Langwedel II'
(Lower Saxony) wind farm, PNE WIND AG has successfully developed 100 wind
farms with 575 wind turbines and a nominal output of 828 MW. 'The building
and commissioning of wind farms will continue as the permits for the next
projects are already available' says Markus Lesser, Chief Operational
Officer.
The 'Langwedel II' wind farm, which was constructed over the last few
months as a repowering project has now been put into operation. Four Vestas
V90 wind turbines with a hub height of 125 meters and a total rated output
of 8 MW are now producing environmentally friendly power. The wind farm is
an extension to a wind farm which has been in operation for some time that
was also developed by PNE WIND AG.
As with the 'Zernitz II' (Brandenburg) wind farm commissioned in the first
quarter of 2013, the 'Langwedel II' wind farm was sold to KGAL GmbH&Co.
KG, an investment manager for long-term real capital investments. Both wind
farms are part of a fund for institutional investors. As with the other
wind farms sold to KGAL, PNE WIND AG is responsible for the wind farm's
technical and commercial management.
Martin Billhardt, CEO of PNE WIND AG, expects a further strengthening of
the onshore wind business: 'The intensive development of projects by our
team in recent years is paying off. The volume of permitted wind farms,
which can be built in this and the coming years, is developing nicely. We
expect a positive impact on our business operations as the realisation of
these projects are before us. The projects are primarily located in
Germany but also in our international markets.'
In addition to activities onshore, PNE WIND AG is also successfully
developing offshore wind farms in the North Sea.
Company profiles
PNE WIND AG with its headquarters in Cuxhaven plans and realizes wind farm
projects on land (onshore) and on the high seas (offshore). In doing so,
its core competence lies in the development, project planning, and
financing of wind farms and in their operation and sales respectively with
the provision of subsequent service. To date, the company has constructed
100 wind farms with 575 wind energy plants and a total nominal output of
828 MW. In Germany (onshore), wind farm projects with over 1,000 MW of
nominal output are currently being developed.
In addition to its business activities in the established German home
market, PNE WIND AG is increasingly expanding into dynamic growth markets
and is already represented through joint ventures and subsidiary companies
in Southeast Europe, Great Britain, USA and Canada. In these countries wind
farm projects with a nominal output of more than 2,000 MW are currently
being developed and are to be completed in the medium term.
In addition, PNE WIND AG is developing offshore wind farm projects, of
which four major projects in German waters have already been approved. An
entry into promising international offshore wind markets is also being
examined.
KGAL GmbH&Co. KG with registered offices in Grünwald near Munich
(Germany) has been initiating and managing long-term real capital
investments with sustainable and stable yields for more than 40 years. The
company's portfolio of services comprises the design and management of
select retail funds and funds for institutional investors as well as
investment solutions for family offices and trusts. The quality of KGAL
products in the main asset categories of real estate, aircraft and
infrastructure is based on the experience of its in-house experts.
As at 31.12.2012, the KGAL Group managed an investment volume of EUR 25.1
billion. KGAL currently manages capital for 110,600 investors (incl.
multiple subscriptions) with equity investments in a total of 135 active
limited partnership funds. Investors have entrusted EUR 6.4 billion in
equity capital to KGAL for these funds. KGAL is an investment company owned
by Commerzbank, BayernLB, HASPA Finanzholding and Sal. Oppenheim. The KGAL
Group has 368 employees (as at 31.12.2012).
