Canadian International Trade Tribunal Issues Determination of Reasonable Indication of Injury
Circular Copper Tube from Brazil, Greece, China, Korea and Mexico
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/22/13 -- The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today determined that there is a reasonable indication that the dumping and subsidizing of circular copper tube from the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Hellenic Republic, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the United Mexican States have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
The Tribunal's inquiry was conducted pursuant to the Special Import Measures Act as a result of the initiation of dumping and subsidizing investigations by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The CBSA will continue its investigations and, by August 20, 2013, will issue preliminary determinations.
The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Finance. It hears cases on dumped and subsidized imports, complaints about federal government procurement, appeals of customs and excise tax rulings and safeguard complaints. When requested by the federal government, the Tribunal also provides advice on other economic, trade and tariff matters.
