Ahold share buyback update

Zaandam, the Netherlands, July 29, 2013 - Ahold has repurchased 2,400,456 Ahold
common shares in the period from July 22, 2013 up to and including July
26, 2013.The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 12.5991 per share
for a total consideration of ? 30.24 million. These repurchases were made as
part of the ? 500 million share buyback program announced on February 28, 2013
as increased by ? 1.5 billion to a total amount of ? 2 billion announced on June
4, 2013.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 24,516,485
common shares for a total consideration of ? 293.75 million.
