Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI (R)) Dips in July
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/13 -- Spectrem Group announced today that the Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) dipped 2 points in July to 0. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) also edged downward 1 point to 6.
The monthly indices measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with more than $500,000 in investables and more than $1 million in investables, respectively.
The SAICI had been holding at 2 -- matching a 12-month high -- for the previous three months. The SMICI has been less volatile in recent months after experiencing more extreme swings in the first quarter of this year.
"While July has seen unprecedented market highs, Affluent investors are expressing wariness over how long the rally will last," said George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "Factors ranging from stock market conditions and the economy to lackluster second quarter earnings reports and the uncertain status of the Fed's economic stimulus program have made Affluent investors slightly reticent about moving off the sidelines."
In a further reflection of investor wariness, the Spectrem Affluent Household Outlook, a measure of confidence in financial factors that impact their daily lives, remained basically unchanged after dropping just over 4 points in June.

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI ®) is based on 250 monthly online interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets.
