Leading Animal Welfare Organization Provides Access to Images for 700+ Employees Using Widen Cloud-Based Digital Asset Management

(firmenpresse) - MADISON, WI -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/13 -- Widen Digital Asset Management (Widen DAM) has been selected by the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®), North America's first animal welfare organization, for its digital asset management (DAM) needs. With a growing collection of over 15,000 images and more than 700 employees across the country, the ASPCA selected Widen DAM to provide its employees with search features and easy access to media.

"The ASPCA has a wide range of photo and video assets from our varied departments and over 147 years in service. Our organization needed a system to house these collections as well as properly tag and retrieve assets by metadata specifically," said Luke Franklin, Senior Director of Member Communications for the ASPCA. "Our organization found it useful to have a choice of dropdown search fields, select versioning, and multiple formats to download."

With staff and freelancers producing new assets on a daily basis, the ASPCA needed a solution that would provide access for both employees and variety of external partners across the U.S. The majority of the ASPCA's employees will receive access to the new DAM system.

The ASPCA's digital assets range from photos of adoptable cats and dogs to historic images of founder Henry Bergh. The organization will use Widen DAM to help document years of rescue efforts, including criminal cases, disaster relief, recovery and rehabilitation, and pets going home with their new families.

"The ASPCA is an organization that does great work for animals in need. We are excited that they chose Widen, and we hope the Widen Media Collective will allow them to save many more animal's lives by organizing and sharing very powerful images with their supporters," said Al Falaschi, Widen Customer Marketing Manager.

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Widen has honed its more than 60 years of experience in premedia services and color management specifically for assisting customers with building brand equity and supporting consistent brand representation across print and Web communications. Through its inventive suite of Web-based digital asset management applications, Widen software services provide marketing networks with real-time, Web-based access to clients' digital asset libraries, subsequently eliminating manual search and file preparation time, costs related to replacing images and videos that cannot be located, and added costs for hardware, software and upgrades.
