(firmenpresse) - ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/13 -- Submissions for the F4 Program Award for Outstanding New Australian Documentary Talent will officially open on Monday 5 August 2013 for filmmakers at the start of their career. Emerging documentary filmmakers are encouraged to submit their first completed film after graduation to the F4 Program and compete for the prestigious F4 Award. Documentaries can be of any genre, style and length and made for any screen-based platform.

Entries close on Friday 27 September 2013, from which four films will be selected to screen at cinemas during DocWeek in Adelaide (4-9 March, 2014). The four finalists will also participate in a mentoring program held during The Australian International Documentary Conference in 2014.

The winner of F4 will be announced at a special function during DocWeek and the judging panel will consist of high profile documentary executives, including international and national broadcasters and producers. Film entries will be judged on how well the director demonstrates his/her creative vision through the approach to their subject, communicating a clear sense of directional style and creative authorship.

The winner of the F4 Award in 2013 was Grace McKenzie for her film 'Audrey of the Alps', an honest, unobtrusive portrait of a young Parisian woman's life who swapped the big city for the challenges of shepherding sheep in the remote French alpine region. A special commendation was also made to Leonie Blignaut for her documentary 'Feel Home.'
