Washington Technology Industry Association Appoints Michael Schutzler as CEO

Veteran Technology Executive, Entrepreneur, and Angel Investor to Lead the WTIA

(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/06/13 -- The Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) (), one of the largest and most respected statewide associations of technology companies in North America, today announced that it has appointed Michael Schutzler as CEO.

Schutzler comes to WTIA from Livemocha, where he served as President & CEO. Prior to that he led the consulting firm CEOSherpa, where he served as a CEO advisor and executive coach. Schutzler has developed an expertise in leadership over the course of over 25 years while working in large enterprises as well as rapid growth companies and turn-around ventures. As a successful Internet start-up entrepreneur, angel investor, and CEO advisor, he has raised over $50M in financing for more than a dozen companies.

Schutzler has been an active contributor and advisor to the UW Burke Center for Entrepreneurship for the past 10 years and has recently served as an associate professor of finance at the UW Foster School of Business. He is currently a director on the boards of three Seattle startups -- Flowplay, Relaborate, and Acucela.
