Info-Tech Research Group Singles Out Company as Trend Setter for Continued Innovation With DXi-Series Deduplication

(firmenpresse) - SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/14/13 -- Quantum Corp. (NYSE: QTM), a proven global expert in data protection and big data management, today announced it has been listed as a Champion in Info-Tech Research Group's 2013 Disk Backup Vendor Landscape. New DDP technology in the improves on RAID 6 architecture to enable faster drive rebuilds with less performance degradation and on-the-fly disk pool expansion.

Quantum's self-encrypting drives enable encryption without a performance penalty.

Incorporation of 3 TB drives provides more efficient use of rack space.

"It's exciting to see Quantum recognized for the second year in a row as an Info-Tech Champion and as a Trend Setter in the backup market," said Robert Clark, senior vice president, Data Protection Group, Quantum. "When we introduced the DXi6800, it immediately set a new standard for performance, value and scalability in deduplication. With the addition of DXi virtual appliances, customers and partners now have the unique flexibility to choose between virtual or purpose-built appliances, depending on their environment. This flexible approach enables partners and service providers to offer their own backup and disaster recovery solutions based on Quantum technology."
