Essanelle Hair Group presents the half-year results for 2013
Sales at EUR 63.3 million after EUR 62.8 million
Earnings before taxes at EUR 2.0 million after EUR 2.5 million
Forecast confirmed for the whole of 2013
Düsseldorf, 16 August 2013 - Compared to the same period in the previous
year, Essanelle Hair Group AG was able to further increase sales in the
first half-year of 2013. After six months, sales increased by 0.8% to EUR
63.3 million after EUR 62.8 million in the first half of 2012 - and this
against the background of two business days less than the previous year.
Regarding the individual salon concepts, sales for HairExpress improved by
3.5% from EUR 20.5 million to EUR 21.2 million in the first half-year.
Super Cut likewise generated an increase of 1.1% from EUR 11.4 million to
EUR 11.6 million today. The essanelle Ihr Friseur concept grossed EUR 26.8
million after EUR 27.4 million in the same period of the previous year
(-2.0%). With sales amounting to EUR 3.7 million, the Beauty Hair Shop
concept, which specialises in the sale of exclusive hair care products,
currently ranges at 5.9% above last year's level of EUR 3.5 million.
As already apparent after the first three months, the earnings figures for
Essanelle Hair Group also ranged below last year's level in the first
half-year. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation
(EBITDA) reached EUR 4.3 million after EUR 4.8 million (-10.3%). After the
first six months of 2013, Earnings Before Taxes (EBT) currently range at
EUR 2.0 million after last year's figure of EUR 2.5 million (-18.7%).
Finally, the result per share amounts to EUR 0.26 after EUR 0.31 Euro in
the previous year.
Achim Mansen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Essanelle Hair Group AG: 'We
are cautiously optimistic that we can achieve our full-year targets of
sales growth of 1-2% and Earnings before Taxes of EUR 5.5-6.0 million. The
deciding factor will be the impact that the increases in personnel expenses
resulting from minimum wages and our simultaneous price adjustments will
have on the end result. We will be in a position to provide a first
indicator in this respect at the end of the third quarter.'
