Applied Materials to Present at Upcoming Investor Conferences

SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 23, 2013 - Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT)
will participate in two upcoming investor conferences. On Wednesday, September
4 beginning at 9:45 a.m. ET (6:45 a.m. PT), Robert Halliday, Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer, will participate in a question-and-answer
discussion at the Citi Global Technology Conference in New York. On Tuesday,
September 10 beginning at 7:50 p.m. ET (4:50 p.m. PT), Steve Ghanayem, Group
Vice President and General Manager, Transistor and Metallization Products group
will participate in a question-and-answer discussion at the Deutsche Bank
Technology Conference in Las Vegas.
A live webcast of the presentations will be available on the Applied Materials
website at http://www.appliedmaterials.com/investor-relations. A replay of the
Citi conference will be available beginning September 4 at 5:00 p.m. ET. A
replay of the Deutsche Bank conference will be available beginning September 11
at 12:00 p.m. ET. Both presentations will remain available for three months.
