Schaeffler Presents Sustainability Data
(PresseBox) - The worldwide Schaeffler Group is presenting detailed facts and figures about its sustainability during the Hanover Fair. The company's sustainability report lists achieved and future targets in all the company's divisions. This presentation of the high standards and successes gives a comprehensive overview about Schaeffler's commitment to sustainability.
"Sustainability is a tradition at Schaeffler. The sustainability report shows the total number of measures for the first time and proves to what extent the company supports sustainable management", explains Dr. Juergen M. Geissinger, President and CEO of Schaeffler GmbH. The company based in the town of Herzogenaurach in northern Bavaria presents in its 50-page report the numerous initiatives, with which it has successfully implemented environmental protection and occupational safety, conversation of resources and social responsibility at 180 locations worldwide for many years.
Certified environmental protection and occupational safety
Environmental protection and occupational safety have been an important part of the management principles at Schaeffler for more than 15 years.
Standardized validation in accordance with the directives from EMAS, the European regulations for environmental management, is another success as part of environmental protection measures. This standardized certification that was completed at the end of 2010 and is used at all 80 Schaeffler production locations - together with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 - is one of the results that demonstrates Schaeffler's proactive course of action in terms of figures.
"The numerous awards for our commitment also confirm Schaeffler's claim to a leading role as a company that operates in a sustainable manner. This report therefore has the important function of compiling and illustrating the large number of positive results", emphasizes Norbert Hörauf, Head of the Competence Center Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety, Fire Protection and Safety.
The Schaeffler sustainability report will be presented at the Hanover Fair and can be obtained via Schaeffler or directly at the trade show booth.
