TAB Bank to Be Title Sponsor at 13th Annual Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament
(firmenpresse) - OGDEN, UT -- (Marketwired) -- 08/30/13 -- is pleased to announce that it will be the title sponsor at the 13th Annual Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament this year will be held at the golf course in Eden, UT on Friday, September 6th.
TAB Bank has been a sponsor of the Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament every year it has been held. The first tournament was held in 2001, where with TAB's help, $8,500 was raised. To date, the golf tournament has raised $219,525 for the Ogden Rescue Mission. The last eight years have been the most successful in terms of dollars earned with a total of $182,500 being raised or an average of $22,800 per year.
"The first Ogden Rescue Mission Charity Golf Tournament was held in 2001 and raised $8,500 for the Mission. The tournament held at about that money level through 2004. Beginning in 2005, due to TAB becoming more involved as the title sponsor, the money jumped to $22,000 and has sustained that level since then. With the credibility of TAB's backing, the tournament committee attracted other banks and credit unions who have now become regular participants. This year, TAB has invited their sister companies within the FJ Management family (Big West Oil and EFS) to participate in the tournament as well. And finally, TAB has been wonderful to help make the tournament a fun and meaningful event for our teams by providing players with golf hats, golf balls, and golf shirts. TAB has been an invaluable partner in the success of the tournament. The tournament committee and the Ogden Rescue Mission could not be more grateful for their support in this great cause," commented George Squires, Director of the tournament committee.
The golf tournament is the major fundraiser for the Ogden Rescue Mission and provides necessary funds for this community-based organization to achieve its objectives. Each year more than 100,000 meals are prepared and served to poor and needy men, women, and children who come to the Ogden Rescue Mission's doors for help. Once inside, they realize that the Mission is so much more than a soup kitchen or a shelter. Additional services include a free medical and dental clinic, a thrift store, rehabilitation services, and so much more.
