Wasps Wage War on Weary Brits
(firmenpresse) - WALSALL, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 09/02/13 -- New figures from reveal a 50 per cent rise in wasp infestations compared to 2012. Soaring summer temperatures are being attributed to the epidemic of wasp infestations, with HomeServe reporting over 1,600 call outs in the month of July alone -- up 79% from 2012.
The pesky pests also bugged people throughout the month of August, with more than 700 harried home owners calling on the .
As wasp stings can prove fatal, experts are advising extra caution. HomeServe CEO Jonathan King, says: "We've seen a huge increase in call outs for active wasps nests around homes this year and it's really important to ensure you check sheds, eaves and roofs around your home for active nests. If you do spot an infestation, don't tackle it yourself, call out an expert to come and remove it safely."
