KTG Energie AG boosts its operating result by over 80% in H1 2013

- EBIT up 83% to EUR 4.8 million
- Sales revenues climb 80% to EUR 24.0 million
- Production capacity up 34% to 41 MW
- Expansion target: over 50 MW by 2015
- Operational objectives: Continued strong sales and earnings growth

Hamburg, 5 September 2013 - KTG Energie AG (ISIN: DE000A0HNG53), a German
producer of renewable energy from biogas, continues its dynamic growth also
in 2013. 'We have again been able to reconcile the conflicting demands of
the expansion of our production capacity and strong sales and earnings
growth,' said Dr. Thomas Berger, CEO of KTG Energie. 'Our 40 megawatts (MW)
production capacity target for 2013 was reached already at the half-year
stage.'

KTG Energie's sales revenues increased by approx. 80% from EUR 13.4 million
in the previous year to EUR 24.0 million in the first six months of 2013.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) even increased by a
disproportionate 83% from EUR 2.6 million to EUR 4.8 million. Growth is
expected to accelerate even further in the second half of the year, with
approx. EUR 50 million in sales revenues projected for the full year 2013.

As of 30 June 2013, KTG Energie had biogas plants with an electrical output
of 41 MW on line, which means that the company expanded its capacity by 34%
or 10.4 MW over the past 12 months. In the first six months of 2013 alone,
another 4.6 MW of new capacity was installed. Apart from acquiring a 3.6MW
biomethane plant in Quesitz, the company took new 500 kW plants in GroßTessin and Perleberg into operation. Besides the construction and

acquisition of plants, the company generates opportunities for sales and
earnings growth also from optimising and expanding existing biogas plants.
In the first six months of the year, KTG Energie increased the capacity of
existing plants by 1 MW, which is equivalent to additional sales revenues
of approx. EUR 1.6 million.

Positive outlook: Profitable growth, capacity expansion, dividend

KTG Energie is optimistic about the future. The company has set itself a
rated capacity target of 50 MW by the year 2015. Plants with a total
capacity of approx. 8 MW are currently being built at various locations,
with another 10 MW at the planning stage. The company also intends to
acquire existing biogas plants. 'Our capacity expansion targets and our
current profitability means that the conditions are in place for our
company to continue growing and to start paying out sustainable dividends,'
said Olaf Schwarz, CFO of KTG Energie AG.

The full six-month report will be published at www.ktg-energie.de in
mid-September 2013.
