Bilfinger Industrial Services launching maintenance training school in Switzerland
(PresseBox) - Organized by Bilfinger Industrial Services Switzerland under the roof of Bilfinger Academy, the maintenance training school is being launched in October 2013 with a syllabus targeted exactly at the needs of maintenance operatives. Three courses are available - maintenance specialist, maintenance manager and facility management manager. The courses have a duration of three to four semesters.
The new maintenance training school is located in Zofingen, although the courses will also be held at sites such as Basel, Thun, Baden, Winterthur and Sargans. In this way, Bilfinger will be offering courses in regions in which previously no training in maintenance was available.
The State Office of Education, Research and Innovation (SBFI), which is responsible for vocational training in Switzerland, awards the title of "Maintenance Specialist with Swiss Federal Certification", "Maintenance Manager with a Swiss Federal Diploma" and "Head of Facility Management with a Swiss Federal Diploma" upon the successful completion of these courses. The examinations are held by the sector association fmpro (Swiss Association of Facility Management and Maintenance).

Strong practical relevance and high quality
The courses offered by the maintenance training school differ from other training services already on the market by virtue of their high practical relevance. Theoretical knowledge is supplemented by presentations provided by Bilfinger experts who are active in maintenance, site engineering, commercial functions and as team managers at the workshops. Where necessary, the services of external specialists are also used to cover special subjects. In addition, students must complete practical project work and attend training sessions at the workshops of the participating Bilfinger companies. The high quality of the courses is safeguarded by the experienced management of the maintenance training school.
New further training courses
With their high practical relevance, the courses are also of interest to participants who do not wish to sit for the Swiss federal exams. For this target group, the courses offer high-quality training of a level unprecedented in the market. In this case, the Bilfinger Academy issues a certificate in conjunction with fmpro.
Training to commence in October 2013
The first courses for the career of maintenance specialist will be commencing on 22 October 2013 in Zofingen and on 29 October 2013 in Thun. The courses for the careers of maintenance manager and facility management manager start in Basel on 7 May 2014.
Inspired by the Chemicals Handling School
