First trial production at supplier of Discover Energy successful

technologies for environmentally friendly and technologically leading
starter batteries for motor vehicles and licences in these technologies,
provides a status report on the trial production of starter batteries with
components of the new generation iQP-2 for electrolyte mixing.
In the supplier plant of Discover Energy, a team under the leadership of
Steffen Tschirch, Chief Engineer of iQ Power Licensing AG, conducted a
trial production test. All parts fit well in the batteries. All important
tests, including Filling, Leakage and Heat Sealing were, as anticipated,
successfully concluded.
From the successful trial production, the team was able to gain valuable
insights for further improvements of the components. The improvements will
allow for easier, faster and more foolproof assembly. The tooling changes
will be implemented immediately so as not to disturb the product
introduction schedule.
Given the fact that customers of Discover Energy are impatiently waiting
for the batteries with the new generation parts, personnel from both
Discover Energy and iQ Power Licensing are working all out to meet the
target sales kick-off at the end of October/beginning of November.
The factory is a long-time supplier to Discover Energy. The name and
location of the plant are not available due to competitive reasons.
