International Association of Pet Fashion Professionals Names Legitimutt, BEST DESIGNER for 2013
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 09/23/13 -- LEGITIMUTT wins first prize as Best Designer by The International Association of Pet Fashion Professionals on Friday, September 20, 2013 in Chicago. Sporting 3 looks ranging from a sporty techno fiber look to a sophisticated Chanel inspired boucle number, LEGITIMUTT, took home the coveted crystal trophy. To complement each look, every dog had a matching collar leash in smooth and/or embossed Italian leather.
LEGITIMUTT was created by supermodel Kristy Hinze Clark. Kristy joined forces with longtime manager, and friend, Neal Hamil as well as close friend Brian Long to launch the brand which designs and manufactures luxury products for dogs Made in the USA.
Kristy, who became the youngest model to sign a contract with Australian Vogue, and later became host of Project Runway Australia, has taken her experience and knowledge from her years on the runway and in the fashion industry, and has focused her attention on overseeing the creative and business aspects of the brand. She looks for, "big trends that will translate well with the line, which ranges from winter coats, stylish puffer jackets, warm weather polos, to custom made collars." Kristy realizes how large the luxury dog market has become, and is setting her product apart from the competition by manufacturing all of the LEGITIMUTT products here in America. LEGITIMUTT produces collars, leashes, beds, blankets, toys, coats and much more. The real stars and faces of the brand are Kristy's three schnauzers, their names pay homage to Hollywood greats: Brando (as in Marlon) and his sister Ava (as in Gardner) both three-years-old, and Ava's one-year-old son Elwood (as in the Blues Brother).
