Better safe than sorry: fire protection certifications for HellermannTytons' Halogen-free wiring ducts HTWD-HF

(PresseBox) - Intensive materials research and innovative production techniques enabled the development of the new HellermannTyton halogen-free wiring duct HTWD-HF. Its outstanding fire protection properties have been confirmed by several important fire protection certifications.
HTWD-HF wiring ducts, made of a polymer blend of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene stryrene (ABS), represent the leading edge of materials technology. Due to the halogen-free material, HTWD-HF greatly reduces the risk of contamination and damage to sensitive equipment in case of a fire. In addition, HTWD-HF is classified to UL94 V0 and has excellent self-extinguishing properties.
Commonly used in all kinds of rail vehicles, HellermannTyton's halogen-free wiring ducts conform to the most important fire-safety requirements. HTWD-HF has been tested to
- DIN 5510-2 (including the toxicity test)
- NF F 16-101, -102
- ISO 11925,
- NFP 92-501 and -504.
Based on the excellent test results, halogen-free wiring ducts can be used in all areas of rail vehicles - even in the passenger zone. Thus it is possible to replace metal wiring ducts with HellermannTyton's light-weight wiring ducts.
Not only the material, but also the construction of HTWD-HF wiring ducts is convincing at first glance. Because the dimensions and base perforation conform to DIN 43659, HTWD-HF can be used in virtually any application. This offers substantial time- and cost-savings when installing.
