Community Agencies Come Together to Help the Homeless

(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/24/13 -- In times of challenging circumstances, community agencies come together to support one another. In this case, it is agencies that help our most vulnerable citizens: Edmonton's homeless and at-risk of becoming homeless.
Homeless Connect Edmonton is preparing clothing donations for an estimated 1,500 guests for the biannual event. However, donation collection has slowed when the Bissell Centre's Thrift Shoppe on 118 Avenue, which was the primary drop-off point for clothing donations, sustained extensive fire damage on September 2, 2013.
In true community spirit, Hope Mission has offered their locations and services to assist with drop-offs, storage and washing machines to ensure Homeless Connect guests are able to get clothing they desperately need.
Clothing Donation Drop-off Locations until October 4:
Homeless Connect is on Sunday, October 20 at the Shaw Conference Centre from 10 am - 3 pm.
