LISBON, Portugal, 2013-09-25 10:00 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
As ecommerce continues to grow and new payments and fraud protection products
emerge, leading payments and fraud ecommerce professionals gathered today in
Lisbon, Portugal to participate in a merchant-led series of round-table
discussions and table-top exercises. The sessions and discussions focused on
the latest threats and the newest tools to prevent fraud and streamline
payments for consumers.
The event, organized by the MRC, the foremost global nonprofit organization
that fully supports and promotes operational excellence for fraud, payments,
security, and risk professionals within ecommerce, attracted more than 200 top
global merchants. Discussions led by industry leading payments and fraud
professionals covered: 3D secure, conversion rates, SEPA, affiliate fraud,
regional specific concerns, alternative payment methods, chargeback operations,
credit card surcharges by country, law enforcement interaction and much more.
'We believe in the mission of the MRC to help strengthen the payments community
against fraud and are proud to help sponsor the Lisbon event,' said Jason
Sloderbeck, director of product management for RSA Silver Tail. 'The
collaboration of merchants and security professionals at these events helps to
keep payment security issues at the forefront and drives RSA to address our
customers' most pressing concerns within the on-line and card not present
eco-system.'
'Online fraud is a growing and costly problem. Our merchants are from all over
the world and attend our Platinum meeting with specific concerns that they need
addressed,' said Nicolas Vedrenne, MRC's managing director, Europe. 'The format
of the event, including the workshops, the small group discussions, site visits
and case studies provide the right balance of learning and networking so that
everyone leaves with a handful of new ideas, and in many cases, solutions to
their current issues.'
While merchants are gathered in Lisbon they will hear keynote addresses from
Sirpa Nordlund, the executive director of the Mobey Forum and Luis Filipe Reis,
the president of the Portugues Retail Association.
ABOUT THE MRC: The MRC is the foremost global organization that fully supports
and promotes operational excellence for fraud, payments and risk professionals
