Passive House North Opens Friday in Vancouver
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/25/13 -- North America's largest Passive House conference opens this Friday at the Westin Bayshore, with more than 250 building professionals from Canada, China, Europe and the U.S. in attendance.
Buildings designed to the Passive House Standard use 90% less energy than comparable structures, while costing only 10% more to build. This baked-in affordability has made Passive House the world's fastest-growing high-performance building standard.

International presenters include Dr. Wolfgang Feist, the German physicist who co-developed the Passive House Standard; Henry Gifford, who The New Yorker dubbed The Boiler Man; Tomas O'Leary of Ireland's Passive House Academy, Bronwyn Barry of One Sky Homes, and Tim McDonald of Onion Flats.
Canadian presenters include Harold Orr, who helped create the Saskatchewan Conservation House; Bill Rees, who originated the "ecological footprint," Graham Finch of RDH Building Engineering, Robert Malczyk of Equilibrium, Peter Amerogen of Habitat, and Sadhu Johnston of the City of Vancouver.
The conference will also host the world premiere of a new documentary entitled "Passive House: A Building Revolution" at 8 p.m. on Sept. 26th and again on Sept 28th.
