Silex Technology Brings Linux Programming to Embedded Devices With New Software Development Kit
SX-580-2700DM-SDK Supports Dual-Band 802.11a/b/g/n for Reliable Wi-Fi

By using the SX-580 module as a development platform in conjunction with the new SDK, engineers can develop custom application features for embedded devices. The new SDK supports a dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n wireless connection and full, industry-leading security including WPA, WPA2, and WEP plus 802.1x authentication with the most commonly used EAP types.

A proven, dual-band programmable 802.11n wireless embedded module, the SX-580 gives engineers robust and secure 802.11 wireless functionality. Based on Qualcomm Atheros AR6003, the module offers reduced power consumption, and serial- or Ethernet-to-Wi-Fi capability. Together with the new SDK, users can easily and specifically program the module's Linux operating system to meet the exact demands of their applications.

The kit includes a hardware development platform which includes the SX-580-6900 evaluation board. It is equipped with an RJ-45 Ethernet connector, three serial connectors, a USB connector, SPI and I2C interface, an I/ O AC adapter, and a wireless LAN antenna. A full set of software and hardware design documentation along with a complete Linux development environment with sample applications is also provided.
