Huhtamaki sells expanded polystyrene packaging business in Australia
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - HUHTAMÿKI OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 30.6.2009 AT 09:00Huhtamäki Oyj sells its EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) packaging businesslocated in Albury, Australia to the Australian packaging company PactGroup Pty Ltd. The annual net sales of the unit is some EUR 7 millionand it currently employs some 40 people. The agreed value for thetransaction is EUR 5 million. The sold unit serves the local freshfoods packaging market."This transaction supports the execution of our strategic review ofrigid plastic consumer goods operations", says Huhtamäki Oyj's CEOJukka Moisio. "We will continue to review our remaining rigid plasticconsumer goods operations in Europe and Australia."Following the divestment, Huhtamaki has production at five sites inAustralia. The sites in Bankstown, Wacol and Mulgrave serve the rigidplastic consumer goods market.
