Last year's event raised $7,500 bringing the total raised for Baykeeper to $17,500 since the event was first launched in 2011.
Along with benefitting Baykeeper, the Third Annual Media SharkTank gives Silicon Valley CEOs the opportunity to pitch their company's story in a private, one-on-one setting to a panel of top-tier broadcast and business media to help position themselves for future coverage. Inspired by ABC's "Shark Tank," a show where inventors present ideas or products to a panel of wealthy entrepreneurs in hopes of receiving an investment, CEOs deliver a private, three-minute pitch to a panel of , who then provide real-time feedback and rate each pitch based on the company's position in the market. This "friendly fire" experience helps CEOs hone their presentation skills and refresh their stories to be more successful when interviewed in the future.
