(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 10/03/13 -- , "Statistics clearly show that investing in women's economic participation and their ownership and control of productive assets speeds up development, helps overcome poverty, reduces inequalities and improves children's nutrition, health and school attendance. But what is also clear is that investing in women is not only 'nice,' it's good business."

As partners in GATE Global Impact (GGI), one of the initiatives for Bello and Munn was creating GATEwomen and GATEeducation to drive new investment to businesses run by and/or benefiting women in emerging markets.

GGI's GATEWAY Platform is a robust, regulatory compliant electronic end-to-end solution that supports evolving financial regulatory frameworks and provides information and data levels to facilitate strategic decision-making regarding capital deployment for buyers and sellers of Impact Investments -- investments that have the ability to generate a measurable social and/or environmental benefit alongside a potential for financial return.

The GATEWAY Platform technology suite is able to provide investors and project owners with the information and metrics they need to transact, settle and clear assets, while delivering exceptionally high standards of market transparency and security. All securities are offered through GATE US, a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).

GGI allows for investors to have the possibility to see real rates of return and efficiently move capital to good and being able to measure the deliverance of good with GGI's social metrics and benchmarks.

As "The Impact Investment Platform for Women," GATEwomen will leverage the technology suite developed by GGI to bring together women-forward projects, Impact-conscious investors and the information and metrics both parties need to transact a centralized location. "GGI's technology has been built around the concept of 'actionable knowledge,'" said Vincent Molinari, CEO of GGI. "On the GATE platform, investors can choose amongst GATE categories like GATEwomen to review women-empowered deals brought together on a central collaborative hub and given the aggregated knowledge they need to deploy capital to those that need it most."

Clare Munn added: "Women invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. Therefore, investing in businesses run by women, businesses that have a large ratio of women employees and businesses that benefit women and connect women to technology, relevant partnerships and education is key for reliable economic growth in a country and a good investment for a sustainable financial return in the global impact sector."

Introducing GATEwomen to business leaders and government officials at the event, Vincent Molinari spoke of the "transformation in philanthropic giving" that was allowing businesses in emerging markets to access investors and generate far more meaningful growth and jobs over the long-term as compared to one-off gifts of philanthropy. "We are thrilled to bring this evolving financial revolution and the related infrastructure and metrics to the women's market worldwide," he said.

Speaking at the public launch of GATEwomen during the GGI Impact Investment conference at the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit in New York September 19, 2013, Maria Bello, said: "My experience with working with women all over the world for the past 23 years, the common theme is they don't want handouts, they want jobs. GGI and GATEwomen will now help provide an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to start businesses or restructure existing businesses with measureable results and financial returns for the investor."
