Endurance Appoints Scott Galiardo to Newly Created Role of Group Actuary
PEMBROKE, Bermuda - October 3, 2013 - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd.
(NYSE:ENH) a Bermuda-based provider of property and casualty insurance and
reinsurance, today announced that Scott Galiardo, Senior Vice President, will
assume the newly created role of Group Actuary with oversight responsibility for
Endurance's corporate actuarial, reserving and ceded reinsurance activities on
a global basis. Over his twenty-six year career, Mr. Galiardo has held a number
of senior actuarial roles across both primary and reinsurance businesses and has
also been responsible for ceded reinsurance purchasing. Mr. Galiardo is based in
Endurance's New York office and reports to Joan deLemps, Endurance's Chief Risk
Officer.
Ms. deLemps commented, "Scott's breadth of experience in both specialty
insurance and reinsurance lines will serve us well as we continue to expand our
specialty product capabilities and strengthen our market position."
Mr. Galiardo joined Endurance in 2010 from Odyssey Re Group where he most
recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary and Ceded
Reinsurance Manager for their U.S. insurance division, Hudson Insurance Group.
Prior to that, Mr. Galiardo was Senior Vice President, Chief Actuary and
Director of Information Services at Odyssey Re. He holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Actuarial Science from The College of Insurance in New York. Mr.
Galiardo is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and holds an
Associate in Reinsurance designation.
