Dr. Amshel Opens Satellite Office in South Tampa
(firmenpresse) - SOUTH TAMPA, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 10/08/13 -- Dr. Craig E. Amshel, a successful surgeon, has opened a satellite office in South Tampa, Florida to serve new patients on West Swann Avenue. This is his first satellite office. Dr. Amshel is East Hillsborough's first fellowship-trained Colon & Rectal Surgeon. He performs Colon, Rectal, Anal, General and advanced Laparoscopic surgery as well as endoscopy. Dr. Amshel works out of Brandon Ambulatory Surgery Center for outpatient procedures with his main office in Sun City Center.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Amshel earned his Bachelor of Science in psychobiology at UCLA. After graduating, he went on to receive his M.D. at the University of Kansas. Soon after, he moved to Roanoke, VA where he completed a General Surgery internship. He went back to the west coast to complete his General Surgery residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Amshel started his impressive career by fulfilling his ROTC commitment and spent two years as a General Surgeon at Ft. Leonardwood, MO as well as serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Finally, he accomplished his Colon & Rectal fellowship at the University of Miami.
Dr. Amshel has published many articles and spoken at many national conferences discussing surgical topics. Outside of his professional publications, he has also written a humorous book documenting his time pledging his fraternity, titled Fall '86.
When he is not working, Dr. Amshel donates a lot of his free time to the Boy Scouts of America, where his son is an active member. He enjoys outdoor activity and is currently busy training for a bicycle charity that benefits the MS Society. For the past five years, Dr. Amshel has participated in a 150 mile ride
