(firmenpresse) - MAZeT GmbH, the provider of development and manufacturing services for embedded computing solutions in Jena, Germany, introduced for the first time a portable fluidic measuring station at Booth 12-322 at SENSOR+TEST from June 7-9, 2011. This new device uncovers the smallest differences in color and transmission changes. "Developed in cooperation with the medical technology and biotechnology departments at the University of Applied Sciences Jena, we will present the first prototype of an opto-fluidic measuring station using the JENCOLOR color sensor at the tradeshow." says Dr. Fred Grunert, managing director of MAZeT GmbH. "With this measuring unit you can quickly verify for which applications the JENCOLOR sensors are suited. Moreover, the measuring system shows that the multispectral sensors from MAZeT are excellently qualified for a broad range of applications."

With the measuring station, users can quickly determine which tasks the sensors from MAZeT are suitable for. The modular construction gives the measuring station great flexibility, making different measuring tasks possible. Controlling the measuring station is done with a PC supported user interface.

Portable measuring system for minimal spectral deviations

A transportable demo case is available that can be used for all measuring modes. This makes it possible to demonstrate the system"s capabilities at the client"s site. Up to six different substances are available in parallel for testing sample measurements, which are combined by a micromixer. By means of an integrated micropump, a variable mix can be created or temporally controlled and varying material flow can be produced. Its arrangement allows for the analysis of the smallest spectral changes not visible to the naked eye by means of a multispectral sensor. The description of the measuring process is continuously displayed by the monitor software.

The core of the measuring station is a variably configurable flow-through chamber that is adapted to the current measuring task, and can be selected by the sensors. With this design, every sensor in the flow-through chamber is assigned a measuring point. The array of analysis points are perfused with the analyte mix. The advantage of the design lies in the compact and low-cost shape, which is achieved by use of an MMCS6 multispectral sensor and its adaption into a complete analytical system. The basis of the measurements is the detection of color or transmission changes of the media being examined.
