WABCO Expands Relationship with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, One of the Largest Makers of Commercial Vehicles in South America; Will Supply Air Processing Technology for Truck Braking Systems

(NYSE: WBC) (), a global technology leader and tier-one supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, today announced that WABCO has further expanded its relationship with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, one of the largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles in South America. WABCO will furnish air processing technology, on a sole supplier basis, to equip braking systems across Mercedes-Benz do Brasil's platforms of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Series production is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2014.
This long-term agreement represents new incremental business for WABCO with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. It comprises air processing technology that is highly robust and reliable, protecting the braking system and improving vehicle safety. WABCO will supply Mercedes-Benz do Brasil from its world-class manufacturing facility located in Sumare, Brazil.

WABCO supplies Mercedes-Benz do Brasil with conventional and advanced technologies for air compression, braking, suspension and transmission automation to support truck and bus production at two manufacturing sites. WABCO furnishes Mercedes-Benz's plant in Sao Bernardo do Campo, its largest commercial vehicle factory outside of Germany. WABCO also supplies Mercedes-Benz at its Juiz de Fora plant.
