DIOS Exploration Inc.: Mineralized Zones in the First Drilling for Gold on 33 Carats
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/16/13 -- DIOS EXPLORATION INC. (DOS) (TSX VENTURE: DOS) reports that to date eight holes totalling 1 237 meters of core have been completed in the course of the ongoing diamond drilling program on wholly-owned 33 CARATS gold porphyry project, James Bay, QC. It is the first ever drilling campaign for gold on that project, several holes intercepted multiple several meter zones of mineralized tonalite (granite) with disseminated copper sulfides (up to 1 % chalcopyrite), 1 to 3 % pyrite (iron sulfide) (gold indicators following DIOS' geologists in this geological context: gold porphyry), as well as silicified zones and hematized ones, and furthermore, chalcopyrite stringer zones, biotite stringer zones, and carbonated zones in places. Holes were drilled over approximately a 2.5 km north-south length and over 500 m east-west.
Under the supervision of Harold Desbiens, M.Sc. Geo and Vice-President of DIOS, the ongoing diamond drilling program is testing several magnetic lineaments or structures within a gold-silver-copper-bismuth mineralized tonalitic granite on road accessible 33 CARATS. The core shall be detailed logged and split in two for gold assaying.
Gold mineralized outcrops grading up to 4.93 g/t Au, 6.8 g/t Ag, 0.477% Cu and 14 g/t Bi were discovered in 2012. Some glacial boulders of metric size are angular, suggesting a proximal source, and they grade up to 7.76 g/t Au, 15.7 g/t Ag, 2 % Cu and 74 g/t Bi were for the first time discovered in 2011.
Mineralization (disseminated, not vein-hosted) and metal associations suggest potential for a low-grade bulk tonnage porphyry gold deposit, such as in Malartic, Abitibi, Quebec. This release was prepared by M.J. Girard, M.Sc. Geo, a 43-101 Qualified Person.
