Armada Health Care Supports Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy Biosimilars Project
(firmenpresse) - FLORHAM PARK, NJ -- (Marketwired) -- 10/22/13 -- Armada Health Care (Armada), the nation's largest specialty pharmacy group purchasing and channel management organization, is pleased to announce that it is supporting the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and its efforts on biosimilars within the specialty pharmacy channel.

The title of the biosimilars project is: "." This project will bring together key stakeholders to explore how to accelerate the adoption of coordinated data approaches to more rapidly demonstrate the safety and efficacy of biosimilars.
The purpose of this initial forum is to determine the feasibility of launching a collective intelligence system, which will serve to document the safety and efficacy of biosimilars. This newly created system will fill a data void in the market and offer a new set of information points to the industry as reference. It will include detailed information for any innovator specialty drug; identify barriers to implementation of such a system prior to the market launch of the first biosimilar; develop a high level action plan for managed care pharmacies while also developing a data consortium to launch a biosimilars collective intelligence system.
Through the support provided by Armada and others, AMCP will publish a Partnership Forum report in the Academy's Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy (JMCP). Follow-up informational and educational initiatives will also be developed and offered through AMCP.
