CellaVision awarded Best Optics and Photonics Company

CellaVision is this year's winner of PhotonicSweden's industry award for its
contribution to the laboratory medicine industry due to its technology strength
within the field of Optics and Photonics and successful business development.
The prize was handed today to CEO Yvonne Mårtensson at a ceremony at the
conference on Optics and Photonics in Uppsala, Sweden.
Annually, renowned organization PhotonicSweden awards a prize for the best
company in optics and photonics of the year, in terms of both business and
technological advancement.
The jury's motivation: CellaVision is the world leader in digital microscopy
used for hematology. Since it was founded in 1994, it has developed into an
important player in the field of laboratory medicine and the company supplies
its product to commercial laboratories and hospital laboratories all over the
world. CellaVision is well on the way in establishing a global standard for
digital microscopy. During recent years CellaVision has also proved that it can
increase its turnover while keeping good profitability.
In 2012 CellaVision increased the number of sales partners and now has
agreements with several major players in the market. Together with a broader
product portfolio, including launch of two new products during the year, this
gives CellaVision a stable base for continued profitable growth. CellaVision is
a good example showing that Swedish biophotonics has a great potential.
