Simultaneous query of CRIP and biobank-suisse on-line
Web tools for simultaneous query of the metabiobanks CRIP and
biobank-suisse are on-line:
(firmenpresse) - By "single sign-on", registered users
may now retrieve query results from both databases all at once. Thus
sufficient numbers of clinical specimens and data may be acquired for
research faster and easier. The foundation biobank-suisse is CRIP's
first metabiobank partner: Both agreed coupling their web portals and
databases by implementation of web services. This trans-national data
transfer impairs neither the sample and data donors' privacy nor
national data protection legislation since only information is displayed
which is lawfully and trans-nationally accessible for researchers
through the internet anyway. However up to now, queries have been by far
more tedious. Hence our vision of coupling CRIP and biobank-suisse with
further European and international metabiobanks to enhance access to
clinical specimens and data for biomedical research.
About CRIP
CRIP is the Central Research Infrastructure for molecular Pathology and
provides one-step research access to the partners' human
biorepositories and data. CRIP partners to date are Charité
Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Klinikum rechts der Isar / TU München,
Medizinische Universität Graz and Universitätsklinikum Erlangen. CRIP is
developed, managed and maintained at Fraunhofer IBMT.

The foundation biuobank-suisse is a collaborative network of research
biobanks in Switzerland and aims at providing researchers a quick
web-based overview of well-defined human biospecimens and up to date
person related data. biobank-suisse partners to date are: The University
Hospital Basel, Institute of Pathology, dthe Institute of Pathology,
CHUV, Lausanne and the Institute of Pathology, Inselspital Bern.
