Intelligent and flexible M2M gateway, CloudGate, key building block of 'Belgacom m2m factory' solution
(PresseBox) - 10.2013 - Option (EURONEXT Brussels: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), the Company connecting Things to the Cloud, announces that the company's flagship product, CloudGate, has been selected by Belgacom as M2M gateway in the 'Belgacom m2m factory' solution. The partnership with the Belgian network operator was announced at the Broadband World Forum 2013.
With the 'Belgacom m2m factory', companies can combine the necessary building blocks of hardware, application middleware and connectivity via Belgacom's mobile and fixed networks to build, deploy and manage their own complete M2M application. Belgacom is working with Option's CloudGate as key building block of the solution.
Belgacom selected CloudGate, after a thorough testing-phase, because of the gateway's intelligence, reliability and flexibility enabling the operator's customers do deploy their M2M solutions in a fast and reliable way. Option's CloudGate solution - consisting of the CloudGate device and CloudGate Universe, the cloud based software provisioning system - provided the telecom operator with the open and modular architecture they needed for their M2M platform. The customer references of CloudGate-based projects in the US helped to further convince Belgacom that Option was the right choice.
With the Belgacom-Option M2M solution partners of Belgacom get a "one-stop shop" solution from leading industry players to migrate and roll out their M2M solutions via the cloud. CloudGate's open software platform and hardware and software development kits allows them to develop their own on gateway software solutions integrating existing Option developed or in-house developed hardware expansion cards. This makes it the ideal development platform for System Integrators and Independent Software Vendors for their current and future M2M business solutions.
