App Provides Job Seekers Access to Customized Job Listings & Ability to Compare Employers by Compensation, Culture, Interview Process and Work Environment

(firmenpresse) - SAUSALITO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/30/13 -- , a jobs and career community leading the way in workplace transparency, today revealed a new update to the Glassdoor iPhone® app, which includes Job Feed, a mobile-first personalized job search tool that automatically provides job seekers the most recent and relevant open jobs. Paired with employee-based workplace insights, no other jobs app offers this level of insight into hiring companies' open jobs, company culture, pay and benefits packages, and work environment.

With the app, job seekers get access to millions of job listings from a wide variety of employers ranging from small businesses to large, publicly-traded companies. The Glassdoor site and its mobile platform also offer five million employee-provided , and ratings, CEO approval ratings, , and office photos for 270,000 companies.

The app redesign includes:

The Glassdoor Job Feed is a customized stream of the latest job listings based on a job seeker's saved job search preferences. The Job Feed shows job listings in reverse chronological order and highlights new jobs since the job seeker's last visit, indicating jobs that have already been viewed. After creating a Job Feed, job seekers can also opt for daily push notifications alerting them to the latest jobs that fit their interests. In other words, the Job Feed searches Glassdoor's millions of job listings for the job seeker and provides timely alerts of the latest job openings based on customized, saved search preferences.

Job seekers can save multiple, personalized Job Feeds using job title and location search criteria. In addition, job seekers have the ability to save jobs, which they can apply to later, as well as share jobs via email.

Under each job listing on the Glassdoor iPhone app, job seekers get access to employer-specific information by clicking on the "Company Info" button. Within the Company Info page or "JobScope," job seekers will find employee-provided salary reports and company reviews, a job description, and basic company information such as headquarter location and number of employees.

Imagine a job seeker is looking for near San Francisco and finds a job opening at Autodesk. By clicking on Company Info from the job listing in the iPhone app, the job seeker will see what an earns and have the opportunity to read reviews from other Autodesk software engineers, helping to give an inside look into the company.

With a cleaner, flatter design, Glassdoor's iPhone app has been redesigned for iOS 7, helping to simplify the job search process by taking advantage of modern design principles.

"As more job seekers turn to mobile devices to find jobs and research companies, transparency continues to be key to finding the job you love," said Tim Besse, Glassdoor senior vice president of product and chief marketing officer. "Pairing Glassdoor Job Feed with the insights real employees share about the company they work for and how much they earn gives the mobile job seeker an edge."
