SGS successfully attended the Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum in Santiago, Chile on June 15, 2011. During the entire event SGS held informative presentations on Concessions and Risk Management in Megaprojects as well as forged excellent business contacts.
Successful Attendance of SGS at Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum in Santiago, Chile(firmenpresse) - SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is pleased to report that it successfully attended the Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum in Santiago, Chile on June 15, 2011.
The Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum, organized by the Project Finance Magazine was a perfect meeting place for key market players to examine efforts to build and finance Chile’s energy and infrastructure needs. The one-day event provided an exciting opportunity for SGS Industrial Services, silver sponsor of the forum, to hold informative presentations and forge new business contacts.
During the forum, Mr. Eric Bunster, Project Services Manager at SGS Chile, explained how concession companies could successfully deal with the investment of US 8 billion dollars announced by Chile’s government for the next three years. Furthermore, Mr. Adrian Shaw, Head of Project Finance Services of SGS, discussed the importance of Risk Management in megaprojects, including large thermoelectric and hydroelectric projects. Drawing on his extensive experience and expertise, Mr. Shaw explained how to manage and mitigate risks, and went on to provide an answer to the question of whether risk transfer is the right solution.
In addition, participants of the event had a chance to learn more about the issues in Healthcare Concession projects from Mr. Javier Reguart, Concession Manager from the SGS Chile. This presentation was followed with great interest by Mr. Mauricio Marquez, head of hospital concessions at the Ministry of Public Works in Chile.
With over 125 participants, the Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum proved to be a great success for SGS, whose presentations were met with very positive responses. Due to its first-rate experience and competence in the Project Finance sector, SGS attracted some valuable business contacts, who expressed keen interest in cooperating with SGS.
