KTG Agrar grows as an SE in Europe and stays regional

Hamburg, 6 November 2013 - KTG Agrar (ISIN: DE000A0DN1J4) cultivates some
40,000 hectares of farmland - about half of it organically - in the heart
of Europe and supplies food to 22 countries. Quite fittingly, the company
has now adopted the status of a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE),
as decided by the Annual General Meeting on 23 August 2013. The proven
two-tier administrative structure, with the Management Board serving as a
controlling body and the Supervisory Board as a supervising body, will be
retained. On the occasion of the conversion, the Supervisory Board has been
reshuffled and is now composed of Henning von Reden, Chairman, as well as
Prof. Dr. Julian Voss and Beatrice Ams. KTG Agrar SE will remain registered
in Hamburg.
As a European Company, KTG Agrar will continue its sustainable growth
strategy and remain rooted in the individual regions, with the main focus
on the cultivation and processing of food crops 'from the field to the
plate'. 'As a farming business in the heart of Europe, we offer consumers
high-quality regional food products from a single source,' says Siegfried
Hofreiter, CEO of KTG Agrar SE. 'Over the past years, we have invested some
25 million euros in building up the food segment and created jobs in rural
areas. Over 800 employees make the KTG Group an important employer in East
Germany.' Besides the newly built fresh produce facility in Linthe near
Berlin, acquisitions such asÖlmühle Anklam, Frenzel Tiefkühlkost and
Bio-Zentrale have added to KTG Agrar's strength. 'We now have modern
production facilities and strong brands to offer consumers high-quality
products from the region.' KTG Agrar wants to grow its Food segment to over
EUR 100 million in revenues over the next to three years and also expects
its other business segments to continue their growth.
