Geneva, November 13, 2013 - STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global
semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics
applications, has received two International 2014 CES Innovations Design and
Engineering Awards. The STLUX385A digital controller IC for lighting and power
management and the STM32F429/439 microcontroller product line were both selected
as honorees in the Embedded Technologies category. The prestigious annual
competition recognizes technology manufacturers' and developers' outstanding
design and engineering efforts in consumer-electronics products.

"It is an honor for STMicroelectronics to be acknowledged alongside the world's
leaders in outstanding product design and engineering," said Bob Krysiak,
Executive Vice President Americas Region, STMicroelectronics. "We are committed
to supporting our customers in augmenting the lives of their customers, and
these awards are a validation of the investment in our engineering teams, and
their commitment to develop the technology that enables next-generation
devices."

STM32F429/439 microcontroller (MCU) product line

The high-performance STM32F429/439 product line of flash microcontrollers offers
new degrees of freedom to MCU users. The STM32F429/439 devices balance
performance, power and size, while integrating the world's highest-performance
ARM(®) Cortex(TM)-M MCU. Combining hardware advantages with the extensive STM32
software ecosystem from the hardware abstraction layer through middleware to the
application field, ST's STM32F429/439 microcontrollers deliver a compelling
solution for the next generation of consumer devices.

STLUX385A controller IC for lighting and power management

The world's first universal digital controller for lighting and power-conversion
applications, ST's STLUX385A opens the way to cost-effective, energy-efficient

lighting systems in the home, in the office, and on the street. The STLUX385A is
the first device able to address all of these applications with a single
programmable chip, simultaneously giving consumers more control and saving them
money, while making end devices smaller. The STLUX385A distils 25 years of ST
leadership in power-conversion solutions into a single high-value platform that
customers can use to build more innovative and efficient lighting solutions.

For example, the STLUX385A enables intelligent LED street lamps that increase
their brightness gradually as daylight fades and, conversely, automatically
reduce their brightness as the sun rises, instead of having only a full
brightness or off-setting at predetermined times. Moreover, the STLUX385A allows
sophisticated lighting systems that currently require the use of expensive
external Digital Signal Processors to be produced with shorter time-to-market
and lower costs.

Selected by a panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members
of the trade media, honored products will be displayed during the International
CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, in January 2014.
