The new backup replication feature in VMware vSphere Data Protection 5.5 Advanced works out-of-the-box to copy backups of data into the cloud through network-efficient, encrypted replication, without requiring add-on licensing or additional infrastructure components like WAN accelerators. Service providers can now build out these new backup to the cloud offerings with the general availability of VMware vSphere Data Protection 5.5 Advanced.
