Edmonton Delegation Heads to Ottawa

(firmenpresse) - EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/19/13 -- A delegation of Edmonton business and community leaders is in Ottawa November 19 - 21 to strengthen relationships with federal government leaders and raise awareness about investment and entrepreneurial opportunities in Edmonton. In addition to highlighting Edmonton's growing potential to contribute to the success of our national economy, the delegation will also emphasize opportunities in Alberta's and Canada's North, especially market access, as well as the importance of tourism in Edmonton.

Led jointly by the and (EEDC), the delegation is meeting with a number of ministers and senior government officials including Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism and Agriculture Maxime Bernier, Minister of State for Science and Technology, and Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario Greg Rickford and Minister of Health Rona Ambrose.

Delegation members consist of Canadian Western Bank executive vice-president and chief financial officer Tracy Ball, TEC Edmonton CEO Chris Lumb, Edmonton International Airports president and CEO Reg Milley, Zedi senior vice president Larry Spagnolo, Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel general manager Kelly McCauley, Savvia Inc CEO and Chamber chair Lindsay Dodd, Chamber president and CEO James Cumming, Chamber chief operating officer and vice president of policy Robin Bobocel, EEDC vice president of marketing and communications Kevin Weidlich, and EEDC president and CEO Brad Ferguson.
