Munich, 2 August 2010 - 118000 AG today announced that its German 118000
connection service can now also be reached from the cell phone networks of
Vodafone, Telekom Deutschland, ePlus and O2. This enables some 80 million
cell phone customers to utilize the new service and enjoy more privacy.
The 118000 number works like a personal office service and connects people
without disclosing contact data. Thanks to 118000, every telephone customer
in Germany can be reached - but only if he or she agrees to talk to the
caller at that particular time.
'Privacy has become a valued commodity for people,' trend researchers say.
As incidences of data abuse rise, the telephone switchboard for Germany
offers added protection to anyone making calls for business or personal
reasons. Consumers who do not want to publish their contact details on the
Internet or in printed directories can now register at www.118000.de. In a
secure database, they can store the phone numbers under which they would
like to be reached. Even the 118000 staff members, who put calls through
like a switchboard, cannot see these numbers. They contact the requested
subscribers and let them know who wants to speak with them and for what
reason. If the subscriber is willing to accept the call, a connection is
made. This is the best way to protect an individual's privacy when using
the telephone.
The shares of 118000 AG are listed in the Prime Standard segment of the
Frankfurt stock exchange under the symbol Z18.
