ALTER ENERGY GROUP AG ('AEG') (Frankfurt Stock Exchange Ticker Symbol: 39f)
announces the successful completion of commissioning for its 'Smela'
Biomass CHP Plant.

Edward J. Klaeger IV, CEO of AEG explained, 'The successful completion of
the commissioning stage of our Smela 2.5 MW wood biomass CHP plant (Smela
Stage I), the first commercial plant of its kind in Ukraine, is significant
for our strategic penetration of the Ukraine renewable energy market. Smela
provides AEG and its subsidiaries JEP and SEP a distinct competitive
advantage for additional biomass CHP project development and
implementation. We are currently in due diligence on several potential
projects to expand our biomass CHP operations in Ukraine.'

About JEP and SEP: JEP is a Ukraine based engineering, project owner and
developer located in Kiev. SEP is the local corporate entity that owns and
operates the Smela CHP Plant as a minority subsidiary of JEP and majority
subsidiary of AEG.
