Leadership changes completed at E.ON and key operating companies
Bernard Reutersberg appointed member of E.ON AG Board of Management with
responsibility for national subsidiaries
New CEOs at E.ON Ruhrgas and E.ON Energie
The E.ON Supervisory Board has appointed Bernhard Reutersberg (56) to the
E.ON AG Board of Management, effective immediately. In his new role
Reutersberg will oversee E.ON's national subsidiaries, with responsibility
for the company's distribution and retail businesses, which together serve
more than 30 million customers, as well as for government and regulatory
affairs. He will also be responsible for coordinating E.ON's growing energy
operations in the important Russian market.
Reutersberg joined the E.ON Group in 1999 following eight-year stints as a
marketing and sales manager at two major German corporations, Henkel and
Vaillant. He started his E.ON career as head of the company's power-trading
arm in Germany and later spent five years as a member of the Board of
Management of Munich-based E.ON Energie AG with responsibility for all
sales operations. Since October 2006 he has overseen E.ON's gas business,
most recently as CEO of E.ON Ruhrgas AG, Essen. Key achievements under his
leadership included the acquisition of a stake in Yuzhno Russkoye, a gas
field in Russia, and the consolidation of E.ON's retail operations in
Germany.
Taking over as E.ON Ruhrgas CEO is Klaus Schäfer (43), also effective
immediately. A 14-year E.ON veteran, Schäfer was most recently CEO and
President of E.ON Italia S.p.A. and had previously held management
positions at E.ON in corporate strategy, sales, energy trading, and
municipal gas supply. Effective from September 1, 2010, his successor as
CEO of E.ON Italia with oversight of operations will be Luca Dal Fabbro
(44), currently head of the company's sales business. Miguel Antoñanzas,
who will continue as CEO of E.ON España, will take over as President of
E.ON Italia.
The new CEO of Munich-based E.ON Energie, effective immediately, is Ingo
Luge (52). Prior to his most recent role as Managing Director of E.ON
Kraftwerke, which operates E.ON's conventional generation fleet in Germany,
Luge served in several management roles in E.ON's distribution and retail
operations in Germany.
Ulrich Hartmann, Chairman of the E.ON Supervisory Board: 'Over the last few
weeks, we have made a number of important decisions on leadership
successions at several of our key operating companies and at E.ON Board of
Management level. With his extensive expertise in sales and the gas
business, Bernhard Reutersberg is an ideal addition to the new E.ON Board
of Management led by CEO Johannes Teyssen. They, along with their
colleagues Marcus Schenck, Jørgen Kildahl, Klaus-Dieter Maubach, and Regine
Stachelhaus, give us an outstanding leadership team. Our Board of
Management brings together the best executives from within E.ON and superb
leaders from other organizations. On the Board, Bernhard will be a strong
and skilled advocate for our customers and the policy and regulatory issues
affecting our core markets.'
