ZOW 2014: Stylish living in the right light

ID: 319806

Manufacturers of lighting systems exhibit innovative lighting elements at Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center February 10-13, 2014

How we see the world depends on the kind of light in which we see it: light accentuates, it can stimulate the emotions or provide a calming influence, highlight functions and define spaces. At ZOW, the supplier show for the furniture and interior design industries, German and international suppliers, such as Elektra, L&S, Halemeier and Domus Line, demonstrate the technical refinements in lighting systems that bring living space and objects into the right light.

(firmenpresse) - The trend toward LED lighting continues unabated. Light emitting diodes combine a high level of energy efficiency with a long service life and outstanding performance. Thanks to their eco-friendly production processes and lower operating and maintenance costs compared to halogen technology, they are rightly considered to be the technology of the future in the furniture and interior design industries. Teamed up with dimmer functionalities and in different color designs, LED systems can be used for virtually all applications – whether at home, in hotels, bars and restaurants or in retail stores. Due to its minimal space requirement, they’re ideal on their own for mobile spaces, such as caravans and yachts. “Lighting is of huge importance for the ambience in living spaces. That’s why I’m delighted that suppliers are showcasing their innovative strength at ZOW,” says Horst Rudolph, managing director at Clarion Events Deutschland GmbH.

LED technology reflects the great technical innovative strength of the industry. Lighting fixtures for living space and workspace need less and less energy and at

the same time achieve higher and higher luminosities. And organic light emitting diodes (OLED), which have already taken over the mass market for displays, are a further development that is increasingly making its mark on the industry and is of interest to lighting designers, shopfitters and architects.

Light unites form and function

Softboxes integrated into interior design are another trend in the industry, as well as powerful spotlights for ceilings and furniture or as standard lamps. Their homogenous light surfaces provide for optimum lighting conditions in workspaces or – if preferred – to create a warm ambience in bathrooms and bedrooms. Of course, as well as presenting their series production complete solutions, the lighting experts at the show will be also have a broad range of components for the furniture industry on show – from transformers and plug-in systems through cables, switches and sensors. “The exhibitors from the lighting industry demonstrate just how diverse the supplier sector is. At ZOW, it’s not just all about putting on a show. Our exhibitors are bringing real solutions onto the market,” adds Rudolph.

ZOW – the value-added show that works

Clarion Events Deutschland is expecting around 600 exhibitors and 17,000 visitors at the next ZOW. As the first industry show of the year, next year’s event will once again direct the focus of decision-makers toward technological and design trends so that appropriate product solutions can be incorporated into their collections. “In dedicated areas, exhibitors and visitors can also find out as usual about value-added products, such as RFID and lightweight construction,” explains Rudolph. “As a process-led show that works, ZOW delivers information in compact form to give decision-makers a real time advantage.”
