IKA® Werke is recognized in the German Design Council’s “German Design Award 2014”
“Special Mention for exceptional design quality” for the Ultra Turrax® Tube Drive control dispersion system in the German Design Award
(firmenpresse) - Staufen, November 22, 2013 _ The “Ultra Turrax Tube Drive control” (UTTD® control) dispersion system manufactured by the Staufen-based company IKA®- Werke was awarded a Special Mention for exceptional design quality in the Working Spaces category of the German Design Award 2014. This designation is given to work where aspects of the design or the solutions it offers are considered particularly well crafted.
The “German Design Award” is presented by the German Design Council and is one of the most renowned design awards. Award contestants cannot nominate themselves. The UTTD control had already won the coveted “red dot” award for design excellence in 2012.
The UTTD control is a unique, versatile homogenization system with sealable disposable sample tubes. It can be used for dispersing, homogenizing, stirring and grinding.
Sealed sample preparation facilitates work with unpleasant smelling, toxic or infectious materials. Presets enable serial tests to be repeated with greater precision. The easy to use & easy to clean principle lies behind the design. The UTTD control is easy to operate, while the disposable tubes save on cleaning and prevent cross contamination.
